I am faithful.
I don't attend a church. I have long struggled with organized religion.
In those spaces of organization...
I have experienced the difficult task of the expectation to blindly trust those sharing the space.
I have experienced the rigidity and confinement of what is "good and right," while also feeling the hypocrisy filling the room.
I have experienced the routine of talking the talk only to miss the action of the walk.
But in all of these experiences and beyond them, I have discovered, developed and embraced my faith.
It is a faith that sits silently on a Sunday morning at a dining room table, hands folded and eyes closed seeking a present mind, patient heart, and service hands.
It is a faith that lies silently every night in a bed, hands folded and eyes closed seeking a calm mind, guiding message, and peaceful sleep.
It is a faith that walks present every day along a path, hands outstretched and eyes open giving intentional awareness, grace-filled love, and service-driven action.
"And He walks with me and talks with me and calls me His own."
I am faithful.
