Tonight ended with a hearty belly chuckle as a story was retold...
This story begins with a bush, a teenager, and a bucket.
Once upon a time, there was a bush. Yard work needed to be done at grandpa's house and who better to employ than a moody teenage girl disinterested in anything outside of socializing. With a little stern talking to by a favored uncle, the teenage girl committed to yard work that left her to clean under a bush. Upon entering what felt like a forest, she realized there was a stench of putrid measure. She beckoned her uncle and explained the burning sensation occurring in her nose. He replied with a stern voice that she would in fact clean under that bush, that it was no more than rotted leaf smell, and that it would be done in a timely fashion. Begrudgingly she continued the task at hand. Gloveless and with her nose burning, the rotted leaves were cleared and she was free to venture into her realm...teenage playtime. At dinner that evening, grandpa asked, with great joy in his voice and smile on his face, who had cleaned under the bush. The uncle replied that the young girl had and remarked what a beautiful job she had done. She made mention of the smell but held her own sense of pride. Immediately the grandpa began to chuckle and, in between solid moments of full on laughing, revealed the story of the smell. Some weeks back he had swallowed one of his teeth from his false palette. In order to avoid having to purchase a new palette, he decided to excrete his waste over a screened bucket and dilute it with water. Using a stick, he sifted to find his tooth. The remnants of his waste were then tossed under that bush; the very bush the teenage girl had cleaned under. The most important piece of the story, grandpa found his tooth and glued it back in where it belonged. With a shit eating grin, he still smiles about the story to this day!
The moral: if it looks like shit and smells like shit, chances are it's shit!
