Scott usually makes the afternoon run home for grandpa's lunch, leg treatment, and medicine. However, on his 11-8 shifts, I take a lunch to get it all done. Grandpa is always worried because it's a quick run into the house for me and he wonders if I will eat. Today, when I came home for his lunch, I found him with his leg treatment velcroed around his leg in a crooked fashion, a spoon on the floor, and his hair wildly a mess. I asked him if he just got up, if he was throwing spoons for entertainment, and what he wanted for lunch. He said he had gotten up to put his leg treatment on, got in his chair, and realized the power switch to his machine was off. Therefore, he concocted an "arm" by putting the TV remote in his slipped with his breakfast spoon underneath it, reclined his chair all the way, and was within a half inch of getting the power switch on until the spoon feel to the floor. It would have taken him less time to get in his wheelchair and flip the switch, but need breeds ingenuity. To get: an apparatus for grandpa to reach the switch from his chair.
