Life with Grandpa

It's been a tumultuous week. Grandpa's mood has been low, with a lot of complaining; what's wrong with the world, what's wrong with kids today, what's wrong with TV, and so on. However, once again, the shower becomes a time of renewal for each of us. A time for him to be thankful and a time for us to remember that love is louder; louder than any frustration we could feel. I have mastered the art of facial hair shaping and he has agreed to a goatee. We have mastered the art of getting a wheelchair up a flight of stairs and he has agreed to just sit and be still. I have mastered the art of belting out Frank Sinatra and he has agreed to sing alongside me and not laugh at me. We are a complete family with grandpa and he is complete with us.

Life with Grandpa

There have been a lot of funny moments...some that can be shared and others that cannot, but amidst them all is a sense of restlessness...
